|Middlesex by Jeffrey Eugenides|
Stopped reading halfway, more appropriately said, I think. This was my very first Eugenides, and given his popularity and Virgin Suicides, I expected a lot from this one. I shouldn't have. Not to say that the book is all that bad, I did enjoy it from time to time, but neither the writing style nor plot kept me from wanting to turn page after page. The book has its moments, but unfortunately for a thick read, those rare moments weren't worth dragging yourself for to reach the rather far finish line.
